At VNA’s inpatient hospice facility, patients will spend their final days surrounded by loved ones, as there will be unlimited visiting hours for family, friends, children and even pets. They will also benefit from continued interaction with the interdisciplinary VNA Hospice team that had cared for them at home, including social workers, spiritual counselors and volunteers.
The center will be staffed 24 hours a day by specially trained hospice nurses and aides, and the patient’s care will be overseen by dedicated hospice physicians.
Situated on a quiet five-acre site in Butler, VNA’s inpatient hospice center will be designed to maximize the comfort of patients and their families, with features including:

Initially, the facility will offer 12 suites, which will enable us to serve 200 patients per year, but the building will be constructed to facilitate later expansion to 24 suites.
Cost of construction for this valuable community project is approximately $5 million. The anticipated capital expenditure requirements are as follows:

Financing will come from a number of sources, including grants, loans and a possible bond issue. However, the single largest funding source will be the Legacy for Life capital campaign.
